Max Lu

max luMax Lu is a Special Project Lead for Bloomberg’s New Economy Forum, a platform that aims to build a more responsible future by enabling global leaders from East and West to forge common ground. As a Technology Fellow at CCLP, he works closely with director Geoffrey Cowan on issues at the intersection of technology, media, and the society. Max recently founded the Innovation Lab and served as Director of Academic Partnerships and Research at the Los Angeles Times, where he also worked as a consultant to the Executive Editor, Norman Pearlstine, on emerging technologies.  Prior to joining the L.A. Times, Max co-founded the global innovation network MannLab with Prof. Steve Mann, who is commonly known as the “Father of Wearable Computing,” to research and commercialize innovations in the fields of Wearables, Natural User Interface, and Humanistic Intelligence. At MannLab, Max was responsible all operations including the expansion to China. Through his effort, MannLab has been chosen by Shenzhen Investment Bureau as one of the top 10 most important initiatives of 2018. Born and raised in China, Max moved to Canada when he was 18. He earned his Bachelor and Master degree from the University of Toronto.
