vicente lucenaReceived his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Amazonas (1983-1987), after completing a technical course in Electronics at the Federal Technical School of Amazonas (now IFAM, 1980-1982). He has a Lato Sensu specialization in Industrial Automation from the Federal University of Paraiba State (the current Federal University of Campina Grande, 1990-1991), a master’s degree in electrical engineering at the same university (1991-1993), and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering (emphasis in industrial automation and software engineering) at the Universität Stuttgart in Germany (1998-2002). After several years of industry experience in Manaus, he joined the academic career at UFAM and IFAM. Since 1991, he has been a Lecturer/Professor at the Federal University of Amazonas, since the beginning of 2019 Full Professor. He teaches courses in electrical engineering and computer engineering programs belonging to the Faculty of Technology. He also works as a permanent professor of the postgraduate program in electrical engineering (PPGEE) and in computer science (PPGI) of that university (Ph.D. and Master Courses). He was a career professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas (formerly ETFAM and CEFET-AM) between 1989 and 2012. He served as a representative of the scientific community in the superior council of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Amazonas - FAPEAM for four years in a row, since August 2003, and has served as a teaching representative (elected by peers) in the research chamber of that institution since 2012. He has experience in electrical engineering and computer science, with emphasis on embedded systems and software engineering, working recently in the following subjects Industrial Automation Systems, Applications of Cyber-Physical Systems, New Applications for Industry (Industry 4.0), Software Reuse Techniques, Applications for Electronic Health and Assistive Technologies (eHealth Systems), Intelligent Environments, and Ambient Intelligence (Home and Industrial usage). He has coordinated several research and development projects in the related topics with financing support of CNPq, FAPEAM, FINEP, SUFRAMA, and companies located in the Industrial Hub of Manaus. He obtained the title of Senior Member of ACM in 2013, Senior Member of IEEE in 2014, and Senior Member of ISA in 2014.
